What is the job description for a Construction Estimator?

Fuction:
To estimate and negotiate contract projects from interview/procurement through guaranteed maximum price proposal.

Responsibilities:
Prepare preliminary and final cost estimates, Participate in presentations and interviews for procuring negotiated work, Participate in overall project schedules, Coordinate and integrate the Architect's design and efforts with construction schedules, maintain contact with subcontractors and suppliers for purposes of obtaining sub bids and materials quotations, Assist in preparing bid packages, pre-qualification of subcontractors, subcontract and vendor bid lists, invitations to bid, bidding instructions and bid forms.

Requirements:
5 to 10 years in general construction estimating, Ability to perform conceptual as well as lump sum estimates, Ability to take the lead on a bid or conceptual estimate, Experience in building commercial construction estimates, College degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering desired, Computer skills.
